Shahwan products use salts, mud and minerals sourced from the Jordanian shore of the Dead Sea, near the mouth of the Jordan River. This is not generic Dead Sea raw material, but a specific origin tied to the homeland of Hatem Shahwan, the company’s founder, who personally selected suppliers based on criteria of purity and authenticity.

The raw materials come from the Jordanian shore of the Dead Sea, in the historic region of Palestine, at the mouth of the Jordan River. Bath Salt is made of 100% pure Dead Sea salt. Body Mud Mask, Face Mud Mask and Body Scrub contain over 95% pure raw material.

Yes. All Shahwan products comply with European Cosmetics Regulation (EC) No. 1223/2009 and current Italian regulations. The formulas meet safety requirements and INCI lists are drafted according to European standards.

Hatem Shahwan was born in 1965 in Palestine and is now an Italian citizen. A mechanical engineer with a PhD in Energy Engineering from Politecnico di Torino, he has a thirty-year career in energy efficiency and sustainability. His professional work with wellness centres and childhood memories on the shores of the Dead Sea led him to found Shahwan S.r.l.

Shahwan products are formulated with natural raw materials at high mineral concentration. In case of particularly sensitive skin or specific dermatological conditions, we recommend consulting a doctor before use.

Both are based on Dead Sea mud with over 95% pure raw material, but formulated for different needs: Body Mud Mask is designed for the body, with a draining and restructuring action on the skin; Face Mud Mask is specific for the face, with a gentler formulation suited to facial skin.
